Professor Robert Merkin is the Lloyd's Law Reports Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Southampton. He is a consultant to Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, solicitors and LLP. As a leading academic in arbitration and insurance law, he has written many publications, including Arbitration Act 1996, 2nd edition and is the editor of Arbitration Law Monthly. Professor Merkin is an active conference and seminar speaker and his books have been cited by the highest authorities worldwide
